Salou is known for its large holiday area, and nightlife.
Close to the large theme park, and good links to other places along the coast, such as L'hospitalet, Cambrils, Tarragona, La Pineda, and Barcelona is approximately 1 hour away.
Salou`s main beach has many bars, and activities for all. Surrounded by restaurants, pubs, shops.
It has a more secluded part of the beach further along its coast towards La Pineda side, here is a good place for snorkelling.
Salou comes to life at night, with the Main Fountain being lit up and dancing to music, the main walk through the centre is picturesque at night.
Travelling around is quite easy, with the main bus service being ran by Bus Plana, and a typical single adult ticket costs 2.30 Euros
Taxis are easy to get hold of, and they are all metered, which are ok prices, although they change fare at night and certain days, so ask the driver for a price.
There are many different food choices around Salou, for burgers, fries, pizza`s, baguettes, Tapas, kebabs, and much more. We have tried and tested quite a few. Restaurants are plenty too.
Bars serve all drinks, and pretty much all cold drinks come with ice, so if you don't want it then say so when ordering.
Beers are typically smaller than the UK, as they get warm and flat, but three sizes are small, medium and large.
Some bars operate a “tab” system where you pay at the end of your meal or drinks, please don’t leave without paying, as they will find you, and its not very nice. Once your bill comes, it's customary to leave a tip as most of their wages are made up from tips.
Try the cocktails in the bars we recommend as they are just great!
Bars stay open til late and some clubs will remain open all night!
There is plenty of activities to do, things to rent, trips to go on, and shops to buy the souvenirs you want. You will be approached by the street sellers, who will offer to sell you all kinds of things such as watches, hats, bags glasses, and obviously they will try to sell you a “genuine” rolex watch for 10 Euros!, come on please, are you for real? Well no, but they look good.
Bars and places to eat will also stop you and try to get you inside to sample their delights.
There are many shops to choose from and some selling the same items, so have a shop around to get the best price.
When booking a trip or renting an item remember this, they DO NOT give refunds. That’s right No Refunds, so be sure you want to go before paying, and if someone was to become ill and unable to use or go then the only way to get a refund for that person ONLY is to provide them with a doctors note from the medical centre. So don’t waste your time arguing, you could claim it back on your travel insurance.
We could write pages and pages, so if you require any specific information please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to help.
So go and book, and enjoy your holiday, plenty of sun cream.
Have fun, enjoy and st ay safe.
Regards
